Welfare Assistance

As well as rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals in need, we also offer veterinary/financial assistance to help local animals and their owners.

You must be in receipt of means-tested benefits and live in one of the following postcode areas to use our Welfare Clinic, or apply for financial assistance:

Our Welfare Clinic is open for appointments only:

Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:45am-12:15pm and 1:30pm-4:45pm

Consultation fee: £15 to see vet. All drugs are at a subsidised cost.

Fridays 3:00pm-4:00pm for Neutering Vouchers and Flea and Worming treatment only. No appointment required. This clinic session is run by our SQP, Lindsay. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO VET ON SITE ON A FRIDAY.

Neutering Vouchers

Available from our clinic every Friday, (except bank holidays), from 3:00pm-4:00pm

DOGS

Dog neutering vouchers cover a full cost spay or castrate for any size dog, the cost depends on both size and sex of the dog. The branch helps fund the balance paid to the vets. Designated vets only.

Please bring your dog in to be weighed prior to buying a voucher. 

Male up to 20KG – £120

Male 20KG and over – £140

Female up to 20KG – £170

Female over 20KG – £225

CATS

Cat neutering vouchers are avaiable for people who live in our branch area and who are reciept of means tested benefits. £80 for a female and £60 for a male. These can be purchased from our welfare clinic on Tar Works Road, you will need to bring along your proof of benefits. Please note neutering can only be done at certain vet practices, this will be discussed with you at the time of purchase.

Assistance with private veterinary bills

We have a limited amount of funds available to help pet owners on means-tested benefits with unforeseen veterinary bills.

Unfortunately we are unable to assist with bills relating to procedures that have already taken place prior to the owner contacting us.
