Volunteers are absolutely essential to our Branch, we simply couldn’t carry out all the animal welfare work we do without them!

If you have a little free time to spare and would like something rewarding to fill it with – why not join us?

Roles available

We are particularly in need of:

Home Visitors

This role involves speaking with potential adopters and completing a form with them, to help us assess whether they are able to give one of our animals a suitable home.

Currently all our ‘Home Checks’ are carried out virtually, so you would be speaking with people either on the telephone, or via Facetime/WhatsApp video call.

You will receive full training before undertaking any Home Checks and RSPCA staff will always be on hand to assist if you are unsure.

By becoming a fosterer, you will be providing care for one of our animals in your own home, until they are ready to find a new, permanent home.

There is no cost to you, as we provide everything you will need for the animal – such as food, toys, cat litter, any veterinary treatment needed etc.

Events Assistants

Come and help out at one of the fun events we attend to raise awareness and funds for animals in need!

You would be helping to man a stall and tombola, along with chatting to members of the public about the work we do.

Please note that at the present time we do not have any volunteer vacancies, (other than fostering), that involve working directly with the animals in our care.
