What is Golden Oldies?
It is relatively common for elderly dogs and cats to enter in to our care. Unfortunately few prospective adopters are willing to take on elderly animals mainly because of the possible financial implications.
The Golden Oldies is a Scheme created by our Branch with the aim to find dogs and cats loving retirement homes.
Who is the Scheme for?
This scheme is for people living in our branch area over 18 years old who are interested in adopting an older dog or cat (10+ years).
How does the Scheme work?
The RSPCA East Norfolk Branch will ensure that prior to adoption all dogs and cats will be fully health checked, vaccinated, wormed, micro chipped, neutered and given flea treatment.
The adoption cost is reduced to £20 for cats and £35 for dogs (£50 for a pair), then for a monthly payment of £5 the adopter receives an ID card that proves membership of the Scheme and gives entitlement to all the benefits listed below.
Our promise to you…
Should the adopter at any time become unable to look after their Golden Oldie animal, we will then arrange for the animal to be returned to us and rehomed again via the scheme.
Adopters who do not wish to join the Scheme can still adopt one of our animals at our usual adoption fee.
